ubuntu will not let me install the 8ta Huawei dongle E153

Hello - I received the 8ta Dongle with a Telkom special. Ubuntu doesn't let me instal the dongle, doesn't recognise the set-up files. I would like to use the dongle, which I have 'airtime' on but don't know what to do.

Catharina, with the dongle connected (I assume it is an usb dongle) pls run in a terminal cmds as follows (in order)

uname -a
lsusb
lspci -vnn

and post their output here. we'll continue after I see the output.
