how to get wireless support on a 2.6.35 kernel under Natty

Asked by Jakub Grzeszczuk

have to do so, because I am getting a kernel panic on the newer kernels- the bug is triaged and is on its way to being solved.

bug team advised me to use 2.6.35 kernel for now, so I did- but when using it, wifi support does not work.

how could I get it to run?

2.6.35 is a Lucid kernel, not Natty. Natty currently uses 2.6.38. If you use the kernel not for your release you will probably getissues.

Can you give the output of:

sudo lshw -C network; lsb_release -a; uname -a; rfkill list

Thanks

Try this workaround:
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/784484/comments/77

If it does not work, then please let us know, and let us know if any change happened when you tried it, and also in that case please do make sure to provide the information that actionparsnip has requested.

Sorry, I meant to post that somewhere else (not sure where...maybe I just got confused and thought someone else was the original poster of this question). You obviously know about that workaround, since you posted it yourself!

Anyway, as with https://answers.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+question/157761, this question can probably now be marked Solved (though the bug should certainly not yet be closed).

Can you help with this problem?
