Need help with wireless network!

Asked by Melinda

I'm have two desktop computer's that I want to make into a wireless network. But I'm not sure what router I need to purchase or what to do when doing this. I currently use the Ubuntu operating system, and use this version 11.04 - the Natty Narwhal. I have a router in mind but not sure if it will do http://www.walmart.com/ip/Linksys-WRT54GL-Wireless-G-54Mbps-Broadband-Router-Linux-Open-Source-Edition/8087395 . Thanks your help is greatly appreciated.

The router is make and model is moot, it's a router, it obeys ISO defacto standards. Grab it. Linksys use a UNIX based OS in their routers which is nice. The router will work fine.

Does it matter that I use Linux and not Windows? Because below are the compatibility Minimum Requirements. Also it comes with a installation CD. So how would install that with Ubuntu?

Internet Explorer 6.0 or Firefox 1.0 or Higher for Web-based coniguration
    CD-ROM Drive

None at all, the standards are obeyed by all OSes. It's how the internet works
