mobile broadband does not recognize the usb modem 2nd time

Asked by Saket Pofali

I'm from india using a reliance netconnect mobile broadband on Ubuntu 11.04. The first time i used the usb stick it recognized the stick and got me through the mobile broadband setup easily. The next time i used it refused to recognize the stick as a modem and gives me the following error "Network Offline - you have been disconnect". Even if i connect it again it seems that it is not even trying to connect it and give me the error again. This happens even after setting up the mobile broadband again after deleting the first one.
It would be great if anybody can help me on this.

The lsusb command shows the modem has been detected but it still doesn't run the mobile broadband.

I would recommend you to first use reliance dialer in windows to activate your reliance data card in your computer if you have dual boot of windows then plug it in ubuntu .

Can you help with this problem?
