Unable to connect to wireless network after update

Asked by Eric Weiss

I connect to the internet using an unsecured wifi connection with MAC address filtering. My wireless adapter is a Rosewill RNX-N1 USB wifi card. The setup had been working perfectly for a while, up until the latest software update, which included updates to network-manager and modemmanager. Now, the wifi adapter is still recognized and seems to work just fine, but I can no longer connect to the router. The router's log file shows that the connection is being rejected. Any thoughts on what might be causing this issue? Many thanks.

Try deleting the network name (ESSID) from the Network-Manager (Wireless Tab). Re-connect again to the previous ESSID supplying the correct authentication password.

Just to be sure that nothing can happen again after an update, you can just lock /ignore 'network-manager' and 'network-manager-gnome' from the Update Manager.
