Problema con placa wifi Broadcom 4313n (Problem with Broadcom 4313)

Asked by Daniel Pérez Gómez

Saludos

The pŕoblem is that linux doesn't detect the wifi hardware (Broadcom 4313.802.11 b/g/n). Bluetooth works right. I googled t and there was some solution consisting in install a driver from the broadcom page (hybrid-portsrc_x86_64-v5_100_82_38.tar.gz) and then write some command in terminal (i have no clue of what i did). The fact is that there wasn't any change.

I would like some help.

pls run in a terminal cmd as follows

lspci -vnn

and copy/paste output here. pls consult

https://help.ubuntu.com/community/WifiDocs/Driver/bcm43xx

that will highlight the driver needed for a particular/your wifi adapter identified by the cmd above.

this is your adapter

02:00.0 Network controller [0280]: Broadcom Corporation Device [14e4:4727] (rev 01)

BEFORE ANYTHING ELSE pls boot into win and make sure that

.....
miniPCI

*IMPORTANT* If dual-booting Windows and Ubuntu, be sure to enable the card (wireless light is on) in Windows before booting Ubuntu, otherwise it will not work.
.......

is indeed the case according to

https://help.ubuntu.com/community/HardwareSupportComponentsWirelessNetworkCardsBroadcom

the same url above lists your wifi adapter BCM4313 as supported with STA driver; same is also stated, together with instructions, on the url that I recommended on my first post ie https://help.ubuntu.com/community/WifiDocs/Driver/bcm43xx

question pls - if you have a WIRED ethernet connection (PC - router) do you have a net connection ?

pls run cmds as follows

sudo ifconfig
sudo iwconfig

and copy/paste their output here. tu.

Hello guys. Thank you very much for your help.

I did what alex said and worked perfectly. This downloaded a "privative" driver from an ubuntu page. Installed the driver required and works well.

Peter, sorry i passed that line and didn't read it. Yes, i have a wired connection to another pc with windows XP through an ethernet cable.

Cheers
Daniel
