Can't connect to Internet via Vodafone ZTE K3565-Z stick

Asked by Domagoj Parčić

Hi everybody!

I'm a Lucid user.

When I plug in the stick a red light starts blinking slowly for about eight times and then stops.

A “Vodafone MMC Storage” icon appears in Places/Computer/ and after some time disappears.
Clicking on it makes no result.

Neither the Network Connections nor the VMC recognise the device.
I even wanted to set the device manually, but didn't know what to put in “Data port device” and “Port device control” fields.

Can somebody help me? If so, thanks in advance.

Bye.

Can you reboot with the device detached log in. Then run:

uname -a; lsb_release -a; echo; lsusb

Can you then insert the device, wait 10 seconds and run:

lsusb; echo; dmesg | tail -n 10

Copy all the output and paste here as an update

Thanks

The command was ONE command, please don't cut given commands up, you may screw it up and damage your system.

Looks like the device is flaky / faulty with:

[ 324.916090] hub 6-0:1.0: unable to enumerate USB device on port 2

Does it work anywhere else?

Thank you so much for suggesting that I should check its working “anywhere else”.

I checked it on my colleague's laptop under Windows OS, and it became clear that the device is faulty. So I'm going to take it back to the provider.

Bye!
