What Windows does or doesn't do is of no value. It is a different OS with different support.
Can you give the output of:
lsusb
Thanks

Subject: "Mr. Potato Head"
I can't tell with him. He is a very senior person. He is pretty stuck in his ways and isn't ready to accept that it's time to move on and let younger people take charge. I just get really scared each time he starts doing this. He starts yelling and abusing people. Even if he doesn't commit suicide, I feel he might die of a heart attack or really high blood pressure causing some other cardiac problem.

Subject: Hell yes!
The difference with that is, if someone closes 5 stores then that could be dozens of families, maybe hundreds depending on the company, without income. If an employee quits without notice, the boss, managers, his coworkers, and the CEO still gets a check at the end of the day. That's not quite a two way street, its more like a one way street with an ally on the side of the road.
