Ubuntu 10.10 broadcom wifi does not work

Asked by hemantkarandikar

I just now installed Ubuntu 10.10 on my HP Mini 110 that uses broadcom chips for wifi.

I could make the broadcom wifi work in live cd mode by activating drivers (without internet connection of course!). I just ignored message for restart and it could detect my wifi!

However after a proper installation I am not able to load the drivers from cd or activate them.

Note: HP Mini has no wired internet port!

What is the way out?

Can you give the output of:

sudo lshw -C network

Thanks

If you use a wired connection and run:

sudo apt-get update; sudo apt-get upgrade; sudo apt-get --reinstall install bcmwl-kernel-source

Should fix it states:

I visited the link. Should I add my experience of HP MIni 110, Ubuntu 10.10 and broadcom? How do I do it? I did not find any links for updating.
