all wifi networks strangth is 100% edimax - EW-7728In

since i upgraded to 10.10, all of the wireless networks around me are shown as 100% strength. this is wrong - on 10.04 its not and its o.k....
also in windows it is also not 100% and if i connect another card (usb) its also not....

i have run out of ideas of what to do...
please help :)

I"ve also tried "modprobe rt2860sta" (if i understand correctlly, this was supposed to change driver to another version?

as i say... i do have internet, but for some wierd reason, all the networks around me are 100%

in a terminal run:

ubuntu-bug network-manager

And fill ni the details as required. This will create a bug log. You can then watch the bug and respond to the requests like you have here to see if it can be resolved / is already logged etc.
