Cannot use Terminal Server when connected through wifi

Asked by fidel

Hello.

I have a computer at work that runs on Windows XP and is conected to the network by LAN, with a static IP. I connect to it at home from my Vaio, using Terminal Server in Ubuntu 8.04. The problem is that currently I can only connect if the Vaio is connected by cable to the router, but it doesn't work if I use wifi in the Vaio. The same happens in my office: if I connect the Vaio by LAN, Terminal Server connects perfectly, but if I do it through the company wireless network, it doesn't.

Does anyone know what can be happening? Months ago it worked using both connecting methods.

Thanks very much in advance.

Fidel

Is there a bug logged for this? Have you tried rdesktop?

Hi.

I only use rdesktop to connect from Ubuntu to Ubuntu; it never worked for me when trying to connect to Windows.

Thanks.

I'm sorry but I don't understand your question (I'm not an expert on this)

Click the bug button at the top of the page. You can then search. You can create a new buglog by running:

ubuntu-bug tsclient

I had already searched before asking the question, and I didn't find anything (though maybe I didn't search properly).

Regarding the new buglog, once again I don't understand what you are talking about. Should I do that in my terminal? What for?

Thanks again.

The command will start you logging a bug. once you type the synopsis you may find a bug already exists and you can follow that to see if it gets resolved.

You should search the bugs to see if what you are experiencing is already a known issue.

I didn't do anything... but now it works. Maybe it was fixed with the update I run this morning.
