no wireless toshiba satellite L30-134 ubuntu 10.04

Asked by piperastaman

Hallo !
I freshly installed ubuntu 10.10 to this toshiba satellite L30-134. After minimal attempts of getting wirelessly online, i decided to install 10.04 hoping that the problem there is already fixed. No, it isn't; i still have no wireless - doesn't even see it (when i right-click the icon and go to edit connections>wireless). So, after a long search, i failed to find an answer. Here is some output of commands the results of which i saw some people sending. Hopefully they will help you help me...
thankyou
Basili

If your access point is not broadcasting its ESSID, then it will not show up in the list when you left click on the icon, and until you connect, it will not show up in the edit connections/wireless list. Left click on the icon and select "Connect to Hidden Wireless Network", type in your ESSID name, select the encryption type, and enter a key. This should connect. Now edit the connection and set available to all users if you want.
