Have you checked your network manager? You can left click network manager to see connections or right click for options.
What version are you running?

The network manager is located in the panel near the clock might be vertical bars like cell phone or some other symbol just touch then with mouse to see which one it is then ensure that networking is enabled. If you have a static ip you may have to edit connections and manually put the info in.

on the network icon there is red crossed and said connection not established..you are offline. there i did not find any options for enabling . as the dhcp is enabled i think i do not need to configure it manually. the main problem is that as there is no net detection in ubuntu it is being hard for me to send post from windows O.S. and again try for the solutions starting ubuntu again

Did you right click network icon? be sure network is enabled, the go to edit connections and ensure that method is set to automatic and available to all users.
