Remember to paste / type commands ACCURATELY. Bad commands can cause problems and may destroy data so keep sharp.

The atheros chip has an IP address and is finding devices so I am confused as to why you need the USB device which appears to be:
product: ISL3886 [Prism Javelin/Prism Xbow]

I can try and find setups for the device but did you buy the USB device because the internal wasn't working??

i bought the device because my internal will disconnect from my network at random. i've watched it do this with a good signal just trying to improve my connection

If you have 2 devices connected to the same network you will get issues, it's one of the oldest bugs and won't give you a better signal, it's one or the other so you must disable the internal device to get a connection

Can you help with this problem?

Provide an answer of your own, or ask dave for more information if necessary.
