Not able to connect to the internet.Have BSNL broadband

hey guys.em new to ubuntu.i hav just installed 10.04.1.
i hav BSNL broadband.and also UTstarcom router.i connect to that router wirelessly through ma laptop.
but i dunno where to enter the username and password provided to me.
In windows it was very easy.jus create a new connection n choose BROADBAND.but i dunno wer to do this on ubuntu.
by the way ma net connects through WLAN miniport pppoe or sumthin similar while connecting through windows.
pls guys help me.i liked ubuntu very much.but this is the only problem i m facin

Rohan for simple interface i recommend you to configure the auto connect option.
for this you need to type 192.168.1.1 in your browser and proceed.
you will find some settings
from here you options may vary. it depends on what model of modem you are using.
somewhere if you find input box for username and pass just type it and save.Now this method automatically uses you modem to dail for connection...if need any further help plz feel free.
