I didn't see any obvious answers. It looks as though this problem has yet to be
fixed. Correct me if I am wrong; is there a "Fix" that i should download?

You can always use ndisgtk + windows driver if all else fails

I'd keep an eye on the bug to see if it get resolved.

Please run the following command in a Terminal:

sudo apt-get install linux-backports-modules-wireless-lucid-generic

Then reboot and retest wireless.

This issue is extremely similar to the solved issue here:
