How to automatically unlock the default key-ring?

Asked by Mauricio A

I don't want to type my password every time I boot my computer to get online.
I tried a tutorial online on how to make the default keyring to unlock automatically by using libpam-keyring but it didn't work.
How can I do this?

If you'd set a blank keyring pass you will never get bothered for this.

I'm trying to follow that guide, but my passwords applications seems a little different. Maybe it's for an older version, because I can't find where to change the keyring: the settings (third image in the link) doesn't have a Password Keyrings tab, like the one in the picture. Only Key Servers and Key Sharing tabs.
If you are using Ubuntu 10.04, can you check if your passwords application has the keyring tab?

Have installed Ubuntu 12.10 and now have the keyring password issue. The above fixes don't work now.
What does the keyring secure? Just the wireless password or everything including my internet bank password?
How can I set a blank keyring password if I choose?

You can view the stored data in the same app that you reset it in. They are things like Samba passwords etc and ones stored in browsers.
