[10.10] Wireless card atheros 5001 is detected but not working

Asked by Kelbizzle

I'm not able to see or connect to wireless networks. The hardware is detected. I also notice that if I press the wireless button on the laptop. The LED color doesn't change but hard block does.

 Hard blocked: no

Could someone help me through the troubleshooting process? I've been fooling with this for about 5 hours. The community help told me to post the output here.

The grey solution here will help you compile the driver. You will need to compile it each time you upgrade the kernel so keep the source handy.
