Intel 5100 cant see 5 ghz range

I just came over from windows and I was able to see the 5 ghz range and now I just installed the newest version of ubuntu which cant see it. The wireless detects 2.4 stuff just fine. Any ideas?

My router has 2 radios, the 2.4 radio is being used to bridge to another while the 5 ghz radio is rebroadcasting the internet. Therefore I can only have this frequency. Also the 5 ghz frequency is amazing for file transfers on my network. Its super fast.

It didn't seem to help, the posts were about it not working at all. Mine does work for regular networks. I am new to the command line interface and I dont know how to control settings for it. Is there a guide for basic wireless settings in th shell?

You may have to compile the driver to get the extra speed:

i got it solved, it works fine, i didnt see "more networks" it was located in there. Sorry for stupidity. this is the first time on ubuntu!
