How can i host my own domain at my home without investing to third party vendors for domain hosting and registration?

Asked by Subhranshu Dwivedi

Hi All,

its an absolute beginners talk.

I want to open my company and i want to host my mail server and a web server,

For this i need to set up a domain name server, and i am not sure how can i use my 0ne ip address and create my domain name with that.

I dont want to invest on registration as i have the equipment and a static ip. and i would like to host the name server at my premises.

Is there any way out?

Thanks

You can buy a domain (e.g. GoDaddy.com) or you can use the DynDNS or No-IP to create a free subdomain to your company. If you choose the second, you domain will be something like yourcompany.noip.org.

After that, just install the webserver.
