broadcomm MAC does not play W/ Linksys MAC filter on/ works w/filter off

Trying to enable MAC filter in wireless router media access card does not connect to wireless router (Linksys) when MAC filter enabled w/correct MAC address, connects and works w/MAC filter off, using WPA2 Personal.
Compaq pressario: V2000
Broadcomm card B/G
lucid lynx 10.04

Then you need to add the MAC address to the allowed list. running:

ifconfig | grep HWaddr

Will show the MAC addresses of the adapters in the system. You can then add it to the allowed list and get a connection.

Thanks for the reply, I did in fact add the MAC address to the "only allow" list and and saved settings but as soon as the filter gets enabled the wireless connection disconnects, is there something else.

Maybe there is a firware upgrade for the router (Do this via a wired connection). I suggest you post on a router forum, the Ubuntu is doing its job, your router is the thing having the issue.

after using "bcm43xx" that seemed to work but an update bug forced me to reload the OS, after the updates were installed, the software seemed to detect that it needed "b43", after a couple of false starts it seemed to have worked itself out, am posting this message wireless w/mac filter on. Thanks for the support.
