firefox will not connect to internet (using ubuntu demo disk)

Do other apps connect?

Both firefox and IE connect with windows 7

Windows is of zero interest to us. It is a completely different OS with completely different support so we don't care.

Do other apps IN UBUNTU connect?

haven't tried any. But I have allowed firewfox to bypass firewall in windows
7. But in windows 7 it worked anyway.

You are still having a problem:

there are no other apps under internet

by the way...ubuntu internet connection will not connect to router at
