Ethernet card driver not loading at the time of booting in 10.04

Asked by Jayati De

Ubuntu 10.04 is not able to connect to my DSL modem(Nokia Seimens C2110) so the green Led is not glowing. My laptop model is Compaq 610.It was connecting when I was using the live mode of Ubuntu 10.04.And it worked with both XP and Kubuntu-9.04 previously.I installed the system twice and and the same thing is happening. And when I boot the system for the first time after installation it worked for both the cases. After that I did sudo pppoeconf to configure my internet. And after I restarted the system and it stopped working and also the the network manager applet disappeared which was there previously, showing my lan connection as eth0.
