can't get 9.10 on line

HI All
I am having problems getting Karmic on line, worked well with 8.04, 8.10, 9.04. I have wireless that is connecting to the modem ok, I can "talk to the modem, ( change setting passwords etc) somethings will conect, updates will be found, but can not be downloaded. can download programs with add & remove, but amsn wont sign in, It is connecting but just!! firefox wont go anyway can get google, will let me search but not link to any of the link it finds.
Bit fustrating!!!!
I have tried it from live disc same problem, tried 9.04 from live all a ok, connects great.
Help.
I have to use windows aaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhh.
I need Ubuntu working

OK well your resolution is working and 10.1.1.1 is resolving names for you which is fine

will go back to 9.04 and wait till it is fixed

Can you link the bug here for others. if it is a bug keep an eye on it to see if it gets solved

Learned to do a few more things in terminal.
