USB audio device volume adjustment?

Asked by e1000sn on 2007-04-27

I have a USB audio device attached to my laptop. the Volume control in the upper right of my desktop controls the master volume but the master volume has no effect on the "PCM" volume which is my USB device's volume, instead it controls the volume of the integrated sound card on my laptop which is currently unused (I'd like to keep it that way).

Is there a way to make the master volume also control the volume of my USB audio device? this is important because there is a knob on my device that controls the master volume in Ubuntu, and therefor does not change its own volume level.

If you right click on the "Volume Control" icon, and select Preferences, you should see a list of audio devices and track controls. Use this to select the device you want to control, and what "track" of the device you are controlling (for instance PCM or Master).
