No options to choose for recording in PulseAudio Volume Control

Asked by nacenteno

Ubuntu 12.04 64bit

I am trying to record the audio of a online conference but I don't see any option in PulseAsla volume control to choose Alsa or pulse as source.

How do I fix this?

Thanks.

So you want to record what you would hear on the system,is that right?

- install the package "pavucontrol"
- start the app you can find under that name in the dash
- goto the recording tab
- now start the recording software of your choice and record
- the software should be visible in the pavucontrol recording list now.
- There is a button where you can select the source, click it and choose "Monitor of (name of your sound output device)"!

BTW if you don't have a recording tool, this command does the work:
arecord -f cd 1.wav
You can stop with Ctrl+C and convert to any other format later.

Can you help with this problem?
