sudo cp /etc/modprobe.d/alsa-base /etc/modprobe.d/alsa-base.bak
This is just to keep backup, in case sumthng goes wrong.

sudo gedit /etc/modprobe.d/alsa-base
This will open up a file in the text editor.
Append to the end of this file the following line:
options snd-hda-intel position_fix=1 model=3stack

Save and exit. Restart and retry.

Open volume control
go on edit then choose the following

1 Headphone

2 PCM

3 lINE in

4 line in capture

5 CD

6 Microphone

7 Microphone capture

8 Mic boost

9 PC speaker

10 Aux

11 Aux Capture

12 Mono

13 Capture

In switch panel check microphone capture.

In recording panel remove cross signs.

TRY NOW...................

Mohit....

Are you using Kubuntu... then type:

sudo kate /etc/modprobe.d/alsa-base

instead of:

sudo gedit /etc/modprobe.d/alsa-base

Hope this helps
