Hi ,
Open a terminal (CTRL+ALT+T) and apply the command below

sudo apt-get install ubuntu-restricted-extras

It will ask for your password , write it carefully because nothing will appears (as if no write) .

Then should be OK.

Thanks

Here is the package
http://packages.ubuntu.com/search?keywords=ubuntu-restricted&searchon=names&suite=quantal&section=all

I have wrote the name correct , so see if multiverse repositories are enabled.

Update Manager => Settings => Updates
and see if Important , Recommended and unsupported are enabled.
Also check at "Other Software" tab if Independent and Canonical Partners are enabled.

If still you have a problem , then give the results of

cat /etc/apt/sources.list

Thanks
