How to Uninstall a Non-USC Program

I don't know how to uninstall programs that I didn't get from the Ubuntu Software Center. I am specifically trying to uninstall Steam. What command do I use on Ubuntu 12.10?

Try with:
sudo dpkg -l | grep stam #for search package
sudo sudo apt-get remove (the package you find with previously)
