Procedure/Software to Burn CD"s

I want to burn some of the photos I've taken to a CD for backup but can't find anything about this in Ubuntu 12.10. This is a really great distro.

Just use the CD burning app of your choice and add the photos you want to backup to the selection and hit burn. Burn as slowly as possible to maximize compatibility then test the CD in another system (if possible, or reboot) and try to read the CD to test.
