cannot upload video clips from Samsung Camcorder

Video clips from my Samsung Video Camcorder won't upload onto my computer.

I have successfully uploaded photos using the USB lead supplied with the camcorder but my computer won't recognize any video clips.

What extra software do I need to get them uploaded?

Can you have the device connected and run:

sudo fdisk -l; mount; lsusb; uname -a; lsb_release -a

It may be a stupid question, but are you using Nautilus to import photos and videos from the camera or other software, like Shotwell?
