i have to asked to install plugins vcd protocol sourceto play movie on movie player please guide me

there is a problem when i play movie by movie player i have asked suitable plug ins are not installed and by search i found VCD protocol source and location not found. can you help me to resolve this problem.

have you tried other players, like VLC or gnome-mplayer?

i tried now by vlc media but there is error that files can't read by vlc ang gnome

i installed gxine as recommended but it is not starting due to file missing so what i have to do to resolve this problem
