DVDs (backups) won't play consistently

Asked by ronoweb

I'm only having trouble with backup copies of DVDs, my factory movie s play just fine. I mention this, in determining that I'm not having a hardware issue. As I mentioned, sometimes my movie s (backups) are being read and played ok. Then sometimes they will not play or are not being read.

posting your question multiples times in a couple of days won't get your problem solved.
obviously the factory dvd had digital rights management copy protection install. you can make copies but they can't be viewed.

Sorry about the postings, I'm confused about that as well. I thought that I was deleting the "one", before I posted this one.. If you could explain how to delete all but this one please explain. It's confusing me as well as everyone else, sorry .I made backups of DVDs with the copy protection removed. As I mentioned previously. They were playing ok, then something happened . I followed this,

 sudo apt-get install libdvdread4

sudo /usr/share/doc/libdvdread4/install-css.sh

then I rebooted and they played all of the DVDs, after a little while I tried playing them again and it went back to where I started not reading or playing the backups, The factory DVDs played Ok

In the future, you might have better luck if you describe the subject in the subject line.

You might find it helpful to read "How to ask questions the smart way", by Eric Raymond. Google it. Good luck.

Well, I've just learned according to " Eric Roberts " I'm aka a lusers. I can assure you unintentionally, nonetheless the results are the same to those who are trying to help. So I will make some feeble attempt to start over. So now I will withdraw to my little world and try to think out my questions in a way that will be helpful. I'm apologies , it seems that my attempt to be detailed and thorough was only adding confusion. I wish I only knew how to delete this question and totally start over. Since I don't know how I will try to recover from here.

Should I edit my subject line, or will that do more damage than good?

Can you help with this problem?
