i cant get my dvd to play. and i dont know how to download things from the internet

i dont know how to download and install things from the internet and my dvd wont play when i put it in the drive

im new to ubunto and i d k how to download stuss from the net. and when i put a dvd in it wont play. please help

Then also open a terminal and type:

sudo apt-get update; sudo apt-get install libdvdread4; sudo /usr/share/doc/libdvdread4/install-css.sh; sudo apt-get -y upgrade

give your password when requested, you will not get any screen char typing the password, so type then press enter.
