can burn music cd but when I put in a dvd it dose not see it

I put in a blank cd for burning music works great.I put in a blank dvd and nothing happens. computer dose not know it's there?

Can you give the output of:

sudo lshw -C disk; sudo lshw -C drive; lsb_release -a

According to the OS your drive is not a DVD writing drive, it is a CDROM-CDRW-DVDROM drive only. You may want to upgrade the firmware in it (in Windows) and it may help
