Why cant play DVD's on my computer in a DVD/CD drive?

I cannot play any DVD in my DVD/CD drive on my desktop computer, any ideas how to fix it?

You may need to install the restricted components; including DVD decryption software. The legality of this depends on your location. THese are located in the ubuntu-restricted-extras and libdvdread packages.
