Try this:

sudo apt-get install libdvdread4

And:

sudo /usr/share/doc/libdvdread4/install-css.sh

dear Penelope Stewart: can i ask you what kind dvd player or what kind computer you are using? and what kind dvd disk/(is that movie? like rent from blockbuster or public library?), and can you show what is your mount (filesystem be mounted)? is that include UDF?
