trying to burn copies of MP3's to CD-RW discs and have tried using Brasero and also Gnomebaker to no avail.

Asked by marbuntu

Hi everyone:
I am using 10.04 on a dell inspiron 1525 laptop. I am trying to burn copies of MP3's to CD-RW discs and have tried using Brasero and also Gnomebaker to no avail. I have tried burning in both packages in the form of an audio file and also data and I still cannot hear anything in my portable cd player. Is there something I'm doing wrong or something else I could try? Thank you.

Mark

Have you tried Rhythmbox ?

I don't usually burn CD'S but this may work for you.

Hi David:

Thank you for your help, but unfortunately Rythmbox doesn't have a plugin to burn mp3's or at least none that I saw from the list in the link that you provided. Thank you.

Using the synaptic package manager you can find this under your SYSTEM menu then ADMINISTRATION and click synaptic package manager .. enter your password as if it was a sudo command when it pops up click on search type in k3b and when it prompts you scroll down the list and mark it for installation this will auto select all your dependency as well .. except for the libk3b2-mp3 either search for that or just apt-get install it

sudo apt-get install libk3b2-mp3

Then this last one

 sudo apt-get install libk3b2-extracodecs
