Ubuntu live cd not working

Asked by tothill

When I try and use an ubuntu cd as a live cd, i stick the cd in and restart my computer. It comes up with "Ubuntu" and a menu. When i go to start and press enter it has a black screen and doesn't do anything else. I am really bad at computers so if you are replying to this please use the most symplistic language possible. No jargon please!

Did you try to start Ubuntu in safe graphics mode? It's the second boot option, see http://grok.lsu.edu/Image.aspx?imageId=1905
