GNOMETRIS - move down Vs. drop

It seems to be a bug.
After some pieces and using full commands, including the Drop key (space bar), the down arrow key starts to behave somewhat like the space bar.
I mean, I can't stop the piece so its the same as droping it.
It's fustrating, it should move down only a square per hit or something.

It's worst than I thought. It doesn't have any consistency.
Sometimes it goes slowly, sometimes it simply drops the piece...

This bug is known for Dapper (Bug #52471). I can't reproduce it with Feisty. Which version do you use?
