In Ubuntu Blackjack, are cards picked completely randomly or are there a finite amount of cards that simulate a certain amount of decks in play?

The source code from the program can be retrieved by running the following command:

sudo apt-get source gnome-games

While I am not a programmer, reading through the code leads me to believe that each game has a finite number of decks that is determined by whichever rules the program is using; however, it seems that all the rule definitions available use 6 decks.

Can you help with this problem?
