13 doesn't seem to be one of the GNOME games. How did you install it? How do you run it?

With this information, I should be able to reproduce, and hopefully solve, your problem.

Thirteen is a solitaire game where you have a pyramid of 28 cards. The top is face down and the bottom row of 7 are face up.
You combine cards to equal 13, i.e. 8+5, J+2. I tried clicking, double-clicking, right-clicking to select the cards to combine. After i posted the query i discovered that i needed to drag the cards together. i answered my own question. Thank you for your interest.

I'm glad you were able to solve the problem. (I'm familiar with the card game 13, just not with which application provides it in Ubuntu.)
