10.10 upgrade does not allow many games

Asked by Dr. Pete DiBona

After upgrading to Ubuntu 10.10, my game playing has suffered.
Specifically:
             1. Swell Foop loads but doesn't respond to mouse clicks, except in menus
             2. Lights Off loads but does not display any patterns
             3. Most games at bing.com and AARP.com do not load
All were working fine before the upgrade.
What is wrong?

Have you tried running the games as another user?

No, I am the only user. Maybe I don't understand your question.

Make a new user, log off and log on as the new user. The OS supports multiple local users

I hope this helps actionparsnip (or anyone else) to suggest steps I can do to resolve issue.

I reloaded version 10.10 from scratch. Lights Off and Swell Foop are still inoperable.
Games at Bing.com and AARP.org now function correctly. I have no idea why the web upgrade did not work.
