copy paste from/to desktop

Will ubuntu gnome-flashback package restore the once default copy-paste functionality of files and folders using the right click menu from/to desktop?

Seems there is this. I've not tried it myself (I don't like desktop icons either)

Thank you for your response. I had come across this "hack" a long time ago.

My question was about a default-official restoration of copy-paste, not bypassing the issue and if the developers were having this restoration in their plans or just leaving it as is.
