How does this moron create a workable windows partition?

I didn't even have my HP Pavilion g7 1365dx notebook PC six lousy months before I began getting warnings of low memory on my tools drive (E). Well, being less than computer savvy, I began deleting programs I really was not using. The computer ultimately failed me anyway, and I was soon unable to access Windows 7 PERIOD! My next door neighbor brought over a USB flash drive with Ubuntu 10.1 and I could at least use this PC for most things, although I still was unable to access ANY windows programs (obviously) or my HP applications. How do I, now that I have installed Ubuntu 12.4, bring the two together? I'm afraid I may have fu#Ked it up already, and before I do any more damage, in simple terms, HELP!!!!

First of, take a deep breath.

Okay....

Did you install windows on a seperate partition?
Did you select to install alongside Windows?
If you can give me a simple breakdown of what you did when installing, it might give me some idea as to what the issue is.

However, if you took the step as stated below then there is an issue

If you have installed Ubuntu over Windows then you have more than likely lost everything, documents as well, if you formatted the hard during installation.

As hard as it may be to hear but there is not a lot that can be done if you have wiped Windows from your laptop.

What is the output of :

sudo fdisk -l; mount; lsb_release -a

firts of all it is not a moron.and second i suggest you reiinstall windos and then wait a few days and create a live iso ubuntu 13.10 image ,install it and be carefuul in marking the SIDE BY SIDE automatically puting them together option in the partition screen table

Obvious skill level shows the user should install Precise as it is LTS. Please don't push casual users on the newest versions with significantly shorter support.
