Ubuntu

Unable to start application

Asked by Peter Harris on 2009-08-19

I am fairly new to Linux and have installed orcad and rdiff-backup which both appear in /usr/bin. I have added orcad to the Applications/Graphics menu and rdiff-backup to the System/Administration menu. In the Launcher Properties Command box I have entered /usr/bin/orcad and /user/bin/rdiff-backup. When I try to run either program nothing happens. Can somebody help please? I am running Ubuntu 8.04.

this because rdiff-backup needs more arguments
look on http://rdiff-backup.nongnu.org/examples.html for examples

Thanks Sohaib, this solves the rdiff-backup problem but I still can't run orcad.

Are you using WINE?
if so try 'wine /path/to/orcad'

Peter Harris (peter-harris7) said : #4

Thank you, that fixed it.
