Ubuntu having Internal Problems

Asked by Margaret Mackintosh

Quite often while using Ubuntu a box will pop up saying something like "Ubuntu has experienced a Internal Problem". I always click on "Report Problem". Not sure this is doing much good as the problem continues. Also I have noticed I can browse any web site I want without problems except for eBay. While working on eBay, the system will sometimes shut down - meaning the screen goes black and after a couple minutes the Ubuntu Guest Sign-in Screen comes up and I have to log in and then not always getting logged in. Or the screen will just freeze. Not even turning gray, but cannot do anything. Not even shutting down. Need to do that manually and start up again. So what is happening with Ubuntu? Any suggestions?

What browser(s) have you tried?

Hi,

I mostly use Mozilla Firefox. But, of late there has been lots of times when I get Error Messages. I also us Google Chromium. But, I don't really care for the format. But, use it when I cannot use Firefox. Example Weight Watchers. When I get Weight Watchers up and working on their site I keep getting messages about a Scrip. Cannot remember exactly. With Firefox I always get these Script notices and the screen freezes. With Google Chromium there is no such problem, which is about the only thing I like. Lately there has been lots of problems with Firefox.

Actually I guess what is happening is that Ubuntu itself crashes. Cause what I describe above above - the screen going black then the Guest Log In page coming up, just happened again and I didn't have a browser up yet. So I am not sure what is going on with Ubuntu.

Does the system work ok otherwise?

Hi,

I did think the problem occurred only when trying to Manage my eBay Store. But, the last time it happened, I was not logged into any web site. In fact Firefox was not even activated. I just had the desktop up with no web site or browser opened. So not sure what is going on. Doesn't happen real often, but enough to be annoying.
