lost desktop menu and reboot dosnt fix

I WAS UNINSTALLING UNWANTED PROGRAMS AND MUST HAVE DID IT TO ONE NEEDED?
THUNAR....MAYBE
SYSTEM BOOTS UP TO BACKGROUND ONLY...NO ACCESS MENUES.....EVEN CONTROL-ALT-DELETE WONT WORK!
HELP!!!!!

what file is the default file executer?
this is my first linux system..as you know, im looking for an exe, so ......im lost!

nautilus is the default file MANAGER, the shell is the executer of everything.

What is the output of the command please?

dude, i cant even ctrl alt del!
i am only able to boot to a blank screen, hold down my FN key, strike prtsc key , then i get a lil window that says "screen shot"
frm there i can save to firefox only....and from fox browser i can menu ...open file and enter my file system!
but i dont know which file to execute [ or even find sum ] the program!
soooo....cntr alt T ......nothing1
ive been unsuccesful at dowloading ubuntu [to big and takes hrs and loosingconnect]
I did at first have the program installer but i havnt been ables to find it again or get it workin!

You can get to a terminal (or what would be called command promt in windows) by pressing ctrl + alt + F1 it will take you out of the gui and put you in a tty. there you can put the command that actionparsnip gave you.

also when you press the key combination i gave you, you will need to log in before entering a command. just type your user name and password. The password will not show up as you type it so just type it in and press enter
