Put icon on desktop

Asked by Joseph Superfine

I am using an HP Laptop with Linux Ubuntu 10.10. I have installed REKONQ as the browser. It works fine. I have tried to place the icon on the desktop or on launchpad but it will not stay.

Can you expand on "will not stay"? Is it lost after reboot? Does it vanish after some time.....

When I drag it over to the desktop or launchpad it just jumps away.

Ok if you right click the desktop and select 'new launcher' You can fill out the sections and it should make the desktop icon for you
