This appears to be a known bug see here

1. Which version of Ubuntu are you using? To tell us open a terminal by pressing CTRL+ALT+T and enter:
---------------------------------------------------------------
lsb_release -a; uname -a
--------------------------------------------------------------

Copy and paste the results back here.

Also try

----------------------------------------------------------------
sudo xkbmap us
----------------------------------------------------------------
or
----------------------------------------------------------------
sudo setxkbmap us -variant intl
----------------------------------------------------------------

Does either of these work?

options for keyboard layout can be found here
/usr/share/X11/xkb/rules/xorg.lst
in your file system

A final option may be to re-install. You are asked for keyboard layout when you install.

Hi,

It seems that you're facing an issue with your keyboard where the symbols @ and " are being typed in reverse order. Additionally, instead of the "hatch" symbol, the pound (£) symbol is being printed on your computer.

This could be due to a keyboard language preference issue. Since you've already tried changing the language preference from English (UK) to English (US) on your Windows 8 computer, I would suggest trying to update your keyboard driver software.

You could also try resetting your keyboard settings to default or checking if the keyboard layout is set correctly. If none of these solutions work, you may need to consult a computer technician to help you further troubleshoot the issue.

I hope this helps! Let me know if you have any other questions. For more details vsit : https://gotohomestay.com/the-benefits-of-a-tilt-up-garage-door/
